Description
Parafilm is a stretchable sealing film for petri dishes. This Parafilm 50mm x 5m roll is 50 mm wide and 5 m long. Parafilm seals the edge of a plate, yet still allows the minimal gas exchange your culture needs.
What Is Parafilm 50mm x 5m Used For?
Growers wrap Parafilm around the edge of inoculated petri dishes. As a result, contaminants stay out while the culture can still breathe. In addition, the seal stops the lid from sliding off. Therefore, Parafilm is a basic tool for every agar project.
How to Use It
- First, cut a strip of about 10 cm.
- Next, stretch it to about twice its length.
- Then wrap it tightly around the edge of the dish.
- Finally, press the end down so it sticks to itself.
Use it with our agar petri dish or spore starter agar plates. Need more film? Then choose the 75 m roll. Read our agar petri dish guide or learn about this sealing film.
