Description

This 60ml luer lock syringe by BD is made of polypropylene and holds 60 ml of liquid culture or spore solution. Each syringe comes in its own sterile package. In addition, it is autoclavable.

What Is a 60ml Luer Lock Syringe Used For?

This large syringe is ideal for bulk work. For example, you can draw culture from a bulk liquid culture bag and inoculate several grain bags in a row. Because the needle screws onto the luer lock, it stays in place. Therefore, injections stay precise and clean.

How to Use This Luer Lock Syringe

  1. First, twist a sterile 18G needle onto the luer lock.
  2. Next, draw up the culture.
  3. Then wipe each injection port with alcohol.
  4. Finally, inject 5–10 ml into each bag of sterilized grain.

Tips for Clean Inoculation

Always use a fresh, sterile needle for each new culture. In addition, flame or wipe the needle with alcohol between bags. Work in still air or in front of a flowhood. Also, wear nitrile gloves so your hands stay clean.
