Description

This 10ml luer lock syringe by BD is made of polypropylene and holds 10 ml of liquid culture or spore solution. Each syringe comes in its own sterile package. In addition, it is autoclavable.

What Is a 10ml Luer Lock Syringe Used For?

Growers use this syringe to draw up and inject liquid culture. Because the needle screws onto the luer lock, it cannot slip off during injection. Therefore, it is a safe and precise tool for inoculating grain, bags and agar.

How to Use This Luer Lock Syringe

  1. First, twist a sterile 18G needle onto the luer lock.
  2. Next, draw up culture from a liquid culture vial or bag.
  3. Then wipe the injection port of your bag with alcohol.
  4. Finally, inject into your sterilized grain.

Tips for Clean Inoculation

Always use a fresh, sterile needle for each new culture. In addition, flame or wipe the needle with alcohol between bags. Work in still air or in front of a flowhood. Also, wear nitrile gloves so your hands stay clean.
